Meet the Staff – Dallas Family Dental

Drs. Benjamin and Alisha James

Drs. Benjamin and Alisha James were born and raised in the Willamette Valley and are ecstatic to be back home in Oregon. They both graduated from the prestigious University of Iowa College of Dentistry with Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degrees. Collectively they have experience in both the private and public health sectors, including experience with Invisalign, endodontics, children dentistry, and surgery. Dr. Alisha James is currently a second year resident at OHSU in Portland and will be practicing pediatric dentistry next year (2018) in Dallas.

Dr. Taylor Roemelt

Dr. Taylor Roemelt was raised in Portland, Oregon and attended Oregon State University, graduating with Summa Cum Laude Honors.

Just two months after graduating with his Bachelors, Dr. Roemelt packed up and moved down to to San Francisco to attend the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Although he spent the first 2 months of dental school sleeping on an air mattress on the floor of the living room, he was incredibly excited to be working towards his dream.

Time flew by in San Francisco and before he knew it, Dr. Roemelt was graduating near the top of his class. Although he enjoyed his time in the city, he eagerly wanted to return to his home state of Oregon.

Dr. Roemelt returned back to Portland just two weeks after graduating to work for Portland’s Veterans Hospital, providing comprehensive dental care to the nation’s veterans.

While he was there he was able to further develop the skills needed to be an exceptional provider.

After the VA, he was ready to move on to private practice and was fortunate enough to find Dallas Family Dental, where he has since been.

Dr. Roemelt emphasizes patient-centered care and strives to make trips to the dental office as smooth as possible.

During his spare time he enjoys attempting to golf, staying fit in the gym and trying different kinds of whiskey.

Dr. Les Wheeler

Dr. Wheeler is the original practice owner and has over 30 years of experience as a general dentist. He graduated from Loma Linda University and is an incredible clinician.

Dr. Tom Davis (retired)

Dr. Tom Davis graduated from the University of Oregon Health Science Center with a degree in General Dentistry (DMD). Dr. Tom Davis practiced dentistry in Dallas for over 35 years and is now enjoying retirement.

Rachel – Office Manager

Rachel is sister to Dr. Alisha James and is the Office Manager at Dallas Family Dental. She was born and raised in the Willamette Valley and graduated from Portland Community College. She enjoys spending time with her husband Thomas, daughter Aubrielle and Malti-Poo Petie. In her free time she enjoys hiking, photography and interior design. She is happy to answer all of your questions about Dallas Family Dental.
